Oh I Donated?

I just received this in the mail:

Uhh...you're welcome? I don't think I've ever made any donations to them!

Gotcha!

I was asked to work again at the pharmacy today till late, which meant I would be working sole charge for the last two hours of the evening before closing up. Fortunately I was with one of the technicians, so I had a bit of back-up just in case!

I had one interesting customer. She had prescriptions for her daughter. We got her medicine ready, and I brought them out to her. I was explaining the medicines to her, when she told me that she knew all about them as she was a dentist.

As I was scanning all the items she wanted, she asked me,

"Oh, and do you sell snake skin oil?"

My first thought was hmmmmm...that sounds a bit weird. Maybe it's just some natural product. I turned to the shop girl and asked if we sold it, and as she was about to type it into the computer to look it up, the dentist mother shouted out

"GOTCHA!"

And couldn't stop herself from laughing! She said I had made her day, and couldn't wait to tell her doctor friends! She kept laughing as she walked out with her daughter!

I'm getting better work stories everyday!

No Driving Lesson Today

I was meant to have a driving lesson about half an hour ago, but my driving instructor still hasn't shown up! I have to leave for work in an hour, so I'll have to postpone my lesson.

I gave my instructor a call, and apparently she locked herself out of her car!

Still Alive!

Well it looks like we're all still alive post-21st December.

Some reckoned the end of the world was actually midnight GMT dayime, which would mean 12pm later in the day. That came and passed, and nothing happened!

Probably the most memorable quote from the day came from a friend who just wanted to check up on me right after midnight...

Share a Coke with Me!

I was at the airport Countdown with my mum while waiting for Aonghas to arrive from Australia, and found these Coke bottles!

Now we just need to find one with 'Hamish' on it!

Poser

My mum has been going through some old photos she found underneath the coffee table. So it turns out I used to be a model in my early days...

Not Cool!

Dancing with the Aunties

It's the first week I've had Mondays and Tuesdays off, and it has been quite boring! When most of your friends are either at school or working during the day and you've got nothing to do, all that is left to do is to plonk yourself at home, watch TV or bore yourself to sleep on Facebook! That pretty much summed up my Monday.

This morning, I thought I'd go along to church with my mum to do some dancing with some of the other aunties at our church. I got a few surprised looks since I was the only guy, but hey that's OK! As long as they don't think I'm gay!

I have to admit I don't think I'm a natural dancer. I was probably born with two left feet! It was good exercise though, with me whipping up a slight sweat afterwards! It's probably the most exercise I've done in a long time!

A Little Good Luck!

After youth group tonight, Grace gave me this little good luck charm. I'm not too sure what the Chinese characters say, but everyone who has read it seems to laugh!

Apparently it's to give me good luck in finding me a girlfriend! haha

Let's see if it works its magic! Thanks heaps Grace!!

Drying Clothes the Old-Fashioned Way

I needed to wash my white shirts this weekend for work next week, but the weather has been pretty bad, and our dryer just doesn't work.

My dad came up with a way to dry them...

with the garden blower!

...that was until my mum shouted at him to stop...

Freezing Time

I've got today off work which has come at a good time as it is Aonghas's 21st birthday party tomorrow night and there is a lot of work to do.

We did a bit of filming for Aonghas's birthday video today, and all I can say is it involves a Time Machine Freezer...

Waste of a Day Off

So while yesterday was a good day, today was a not so good day.

It started off good though! I woke up early despite going to bed at 3am last night (it must be a habit now!) and contacted a few dentists to find out how much it would cost to get my teeth cleaned. It turns out it would be around the $150 mark. One nearby dentist said they do a free consultation and then give you a quote, so I booked an appointment for 6.15pm later tonight.

I then thought I better go return my library books since they're due today so I can avoid getting another massive fine. I'm pretty sure I've paid over $50 worth of library book fines in the past year! I decided to drive to the library just so I could practise my driving skills, as you do.

I parked the car in the West City carpark, locked the car and was about to walk off. That's when I realised I was missing something...the car keys were still in the ignition!! Unfortunately I locked the car good so there was no way in!

I called Aonghas to see if there was a spare key at home, but my mum had gone out and had taken the set of keys with the spare! I tried calling my mum but she wasn't picking up her phone. Aonghas decided to ride his bike down to the place he thought she'd be, but her car wasn't there.

While I was waiting for him, I was standing on the path at a distance away from the car just so nobody thought I was leaving and also...so nobody could associate me with my poor parking skills!

He then rode over to meet me in the car park. We decided the only thing we could really do was to wait till our mum came home, so Aonghas got an extended parking permit from Customer Services inside the mall just so our car didn't get towed away (I only parked in a 90 minute spot!)

We just went back home, hoping no one would notice the key in the ignition and steal our car!

I had to walk down to the dentist later on in the day to get my teeth checked. After five minutes, the dentist told me I'd need a clean and TWO FILLINGS! I asked how much and he said $150 for the clean and $180 for each filling = over $500!!! Boy are dentists expensive!

Korean, Arab, Maori?

Today I had to miss church (and a potluck lunch!) to attend a rehearsal at Mt Smart Stadium with Aonghas. Once again it's top secret!

It was so hot rehearsal had to be paused after someone fainted! They provided us with heaps of water though which was good. If only they gave us more than a muesli bar for a snack! Lunch wasn't too bad, consisting of a sandwich, muffin and orange, but because I missed breakfast I was still hungry after that!

The weirdest thing that happened to me today though was while I was lining up, a lady came up to me and asked

"Are you Samoan?"

I told her I wasn't, and she then apologised and said she thought I was her Samoan nephew and was coming over to say 'hi'! She realised though that he was a lot taller than me! Afterwards I told her I was half NZ half Chinese.

Later on, another guy asked me where I was from and so I told him. I asked him what he thought I was, and he told me he thought I was Arab or Middle-Eastern!

The Weirdest Dream

I had the weirdest dream last night...

I dreamt that my mum and dad kept arguing and my mum then said to me,

"Do you know why your dad and I keep arguing? It's because the truth is I like girls...Yes I'm a lesbian!"

O.O

(NB My mum isn't a lesbian!)

I managed to trick someone into changing their surname to mine!

Here's to Ruth Anderson (for 24 hours!).

Injury Prone Calum

So after slipping over on the carpet at Jennifer and Amelia's house last Saturday and smacking into the piano, I seem to be hurting myself a lot this week!

I got smacked in the face with a foam noodle by Rebecca after we had a little noodle fight after lunch at the Children's Summer Programme. My glasses fell off and a lens popped out! Lucky Rebecca managed to put it back in or else I would've had to give her a good thumping! (No I wouldn't do that....>:O)

Last night though, I was in my parents' bedroom looking for some clothes to wear as a costume for the summer programme today when I must've stood on a toothpick. I checked my foot and the toothpicks were on hte ground.

Later when I was in the lounge though, my heel was still hurting and after taking a closer look and a bit of poking with a needle, I managed to get a bit of the toothpick out of my heel! It still hurts though...

Tonight as I walked into my bedroom to get changed, I stood on something sharp, and thought nothing much of it because I'm tough like that. It was only when I walked over to the other side of the bedroom where my clothes drawer was that I realised there was blood on the carpet! I looked at the sole of my foot and saw all this blood on my foot! All I wanted to do was go to sleep after a tiring week, but now I had to clean the carpet as well as wash and patch my foot up (the same one that got injured the day before!).

Hopefully I don't get hurt any more in the next few weeks before I have to start work!

Why You Shouldn't Put a Laptop on Your Lap

I was lying on the couch last night and had just turned on my laptop and placed it on my lap. I was really tired and fell asleep. When I woke up my right thigh felt painful.

When I woke up in the morning, I found two blisters on my thigh, one of them shaped like a heart! I must've got burnt by my laptop!

My laptop won't be going anywhere near my lap anytime soon!
